Malta overview
Malta is a small Island about 70 kilometers south of Sicely in the mediterian, the island is warm during the summers and rather wet and humid during winters. The place as such is rather inexpensive and what I personally lack is the fact that everything on the island is of rather low quality, that ranges from food in the supermarket, to drinks in the bars and the apartments you live in. And as if that not is enough you have to be aware that the busses are rather old, the roads in constant need of repairs.
But, to be fair:
Malta is a paradise if you are young, likes to party and meet a massive amount of people from all over the world that are their to study English.
I can understand why a lot of companies set up their customer support, fraud and maybe affiliate departments in Malta, but leave the rest in other areas of the world, families have a tendency to leave the island after a rather short stay.
The Island has been very safe, however the crime rate has increased the last 2 years.
Malta has a low gaming tax with 0,5% of the turnover capped at 500,000
The Maltes gaming licence is approved by UK, you are allowed to place ads in the UK
Malta has licenses for poker, Casino and Poker
The internet in Malta has improved a lot since 2001, we believe it is one of the best in smaller juristictions.
Malta has a very good setup where you can end up with a 4,36% tax on profits, this might change 2010and nothing is clear on future taxations
Malta has a labour party that might want to ban gaming in Malta, if that happens, all gaming will be banned. We don't think this will happen since gaming is a massive factor in the Maltese economy.
